This International Baccalaureate Group 6 Film course will enable students to explore film history, theory and genre in a variety of cultures in order to achieve an international understanding within the world of film. Students will learn and apply film terms, analyze sequences and whole films, write screenplays, and produce trailers and short films. As the course encapsulates all aspects of a bachelor of arts program in film studies, this is an excellent choice for a student interested in communications, media studies, and film studies. The major activities will include creating a documentary script, giving a presentation about a film history or film theory topic, and making a short film. This course does not include external IB examinations in May.
